Daphne Amory

As a Biodynamic Consultant, Daphne uses biodynamic philosophies, principles and practices, holistic land management and agroecology to guide vineyard owners, vineyard managers and winemakers in the development of the fullest, most sustainable expression of their vines and ultimately, their wines. She is and independent inspector working with Stellar Certification Services, an NOP-accredited organic certifier, and Demeter USA, certifier of biodynamic farms and products, and Aurora Organic. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association, a national organization. Daphne engages her winemaking skills working with Oak Canyon in Napa. Incorporating her wholesale, retail, educational, hospitality and farming knowledge, Daphne works with her clients from the ground to the glass.

Daphne has been actively involved in all aspects of the wine industry for over 20 years. As the Wine Portfolio Manager of g.housen, an import/distribution house in Vermont, she fostered and maintained strong relations with 113 suppliers, including Kermit Lynch Wine Merchants, Winebow, and Diageo, executed trade shows, tastings, and managed top accounts, three of which were Wine Spectator Grand Award winners. As a consultant, Daphne developed market share for small-production European and American wineries, such as Hopler and Renard, and developed wine lists for 2-4 star restaurants across the U.S. She also worked with private clients and corporations, developing cellars, running educational wine seminars, and holding wine-related events in New York, Boston, San Francisco and other points.

Working for Phil Coturri and Enterprise Vineyards in Sonoma, CA, Daphne served as Vineyard, Gardens, and Biodynamic Manager, developing and growing the biodynamic program for numerous clients holding Demeter certification or seeking to transition their vineyards to biodynamic farming.
